Project Manager- Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Project Manager will be a key lead of the Plant Electrical/Mechanical Engineering function with a “hands-on” approach. The Manufacturing Project Manager serves as the key technical resource for the manufacturing operation focusing on new equipment expansion and existing equipment modification to improve and increase plant capacity.  The Project Manager will also be a technical resource to the Maintenance Department. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the design and installation of new equipment to meet growing business needs.
  • Assists in the modification existing equipment to improve performance or meet new product requirements.
  • Assists in the design and develops mechanical, operational, and safety related systems that improve general business conditions as directed.
  • Identifies cost saving and quality enhancing processes, procedures, equipment, and materials.
  • Assists in and coordinates various operations tests and collects data on test results, which helps interpret efficiencies, materials consumption, quality and process controls, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists in and manages capital projects including identifying scope, cost, milestones, etc.
  • Assists in providing direction to Maintenance Technicians in all aspects of their work.
  • Serves as a resource for safety related issues with the goal of meeting/exceeding OSHA requirements for a safe workplace.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required
  • Experience in designing, specifying and/or installing plastic extruder equipment
  • Experience must include thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & electrical systems as they relate in a plant environment
  • Must have extensive knowledge of conveyer systems, sorters and extruders
  • CAD
